CowParade is a unique art exhibit featuring life-sized fiberglass cows whimsically decorated as astronauts, taxicabs, even “Carmen Moorandai’ The event is made possible by the combined efforts of the city sponsoring the event, the local art community and corporate sponsorships for each cow. Professional and amateur artists create these wonderful cows for everyone to enjoy. Children and adults alike are moved by the creativity and whimsy of this public art event that is accessible to everyone. At the end of the exhibit, many of the cows are auctioned off, with a substantial portion of the proceeds going to local charities benefiting children, arts and education. Prior auctions have raised 3.5 million dollars and a couple of celebrities have purchased these beautiful bovines including Oprah Winfrey and John Madden.
